Weather-dependent, Boksburg Stadium upgrade is on track
The weather will have a big say in the completion of the upgrades done to the Boksburg City Stadium.
This is according to CK Sport Industries, the company tasked with the sporting facility’s latest facelift.
The work done to the stadium is expected to be completed by the end of November but CK Industries say they will not rush only to produce an end product with no quality.
Questioned on the exact date of completion, CK Sport Industries’ Harry Swart said: “It’s very tricky to give you an exact date but we’re looking at the end of November.
“It’s a difficult game – a lot goes into it but it will be done with quality – that’s what we stand for.”

Swart and his colleague, Keith van Tonder, also confirmed that IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) representative Matthew Cowan will be flying into the country from Germany on November 18 to certify the track.
He will be spending two to three weeks in South Africa. The track lines are also expected to be painted amid Cowan’s arrival.
Swart and van Tonder stressed that rain is the number one culprit of potential delays. A few drops to a surface undergoing work can ruin the whole process.
During cases of rain, a moisture metre is used to determine how wet the track is. Should the moisture level be over three per cent, work has to wait for it to be dried by sunlight.
