Minister Gigaba to open Ekurhuleni Investment Conference
Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba will be delivering the keynote address at the two-day Ekurhuleni Investment Conference this morning (Monday, June 5) at the Emperors Palace Conference Centre.
The conference is expected to bring together over 500 delegates in the form of captains of industry, investors, property developers and asset managers including dignitaries from Turkey, Houston and China.
The high-level meeting will also see Gauteng Premier David Makhura making a strong case for the City of Ekurhuleni as the province’s investment hub.
Makhura will address a business networking gala dinner on Monday evening.
According to metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, the second day of the conference will continue to present high level presentations from Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Bulelani Magwanishe, Economic, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development MEC Lebogang Maile as well as Roads and Transport MEC, Ismail Vadi.
“The conference forms part of the City of Ekurhuleni’s aggressive campaign to lure investors into the region,” said Gadebe.
“Dubbed Live-Play-Invest, the campaign is set to leave a trail of investment opportunities in exponential proportions.”
He said the conference has attracted leading brands as partners.
“The partners are Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA), Denel Aeronautics, Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), Manufacturing Circle and Gauteng Industrial Development Zone (GIZ).
“These and 30 more industries will be showcasing their products at the exhibition stalls.”
