EFC heavyweight champion stripped of his title and suspended
EFC Africa has stripped Danie van Heerden of his title and has placed him on suspension, after the champion released a post on his social network instigating a racial attack on opponent Elvis Moyo.

The two fighters were due to face each other at the main event of EFC 54, at Sun City, on October 15.
An official disciplinary hearing will be held with van Heerden and the sanctioning body, MMA SA.
Former two-times champion Andrew ”One Gear” van Zyl has stepped in to face Moyo at Sun City for the now vacant title.
“This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable by anyone, regardless of whether you are a champion or not, and will not be tolerated,” stated EFC president Cairo Howarth.
“We will not tolerate any form of racism by our athletes.”
Van Heerden has since deleted the post and apologised to Moyo.
His suspension will stretch until further notice. – @SabeloBoksburg
