Oosrand Secondary triumphs at inter-high bowls

Oosrand Secondary School beat St Dominic’s 10-7 in a closely-contested final of the De Klerk's (DK) Inter-high Bowling Tournament, on Saturday, September 10.

The tournament, in its inaugural year, was organised by De Klerk’s Real Estate in conjunction with the Boksburg Bowling Club.

The local bowling club also hosted proceedings.

Five local high schools were invited and participated in the meeting, namely St Dominic’s, Boksburg High, CBC, Oosrand Secondary and Hoërskool Voortrekker.

The day’s solo individual award also went to an Oosrand player, Aphelele Mkwanazi, who was awarded the trophy for the Most Accurate Player of the Day.

DK duo Eddie Andrews and Isabel Soares paid tribute to both teaching and sports staff, from both finalist schools, for their hands-on involvement in the success of the meeting, and added that everyone was a winner at the end of the day.
