Boksburg secure 12th win, Olympia sink CBC
The Boksburg Football Club took a big leap towards Eastern Premier League glory with six matches still to play.
The Blues beat defending champion Alberton 1-0 in their backyard on Saturday, July 18 to extend their cushion at the summit to eight points ahead of Birch Acres.
Midfielder Andile Mrubata netted the decisive goal for Boksburg following a great solo effort.
Meanwhile, Boksburg neighbours CBC Old Boys got further sucked-in towards the bottom three following their 2-0 loss against Olympia – also on Saturday.
Seven points now separate the bottom four sides with Gold 1 Aces still occupying the wooden spoon spot with 10 points from 15 outings.
Old Boys sit on 17 points from 16 outings – one point ahead of Elsburg and five above their Springs namesakes, Springs Old Boys. – @SabeloBoksburg
