Tommy loses title at weigh-in
Controversy reigned at Emperors Palace on Friday as IBO light heavyweight champion Tommy Oosthuizen lost his title at Golden Gloves' D-Day at the Palace event weigh-in.
The undefeated Oosthuizen tipped the scales at 80.06kg, 710grams over the light heavyweight limit of 79.35kg .
The result has left the IBO Light heavyweight World Title for the first time vacant.
Oosthuizen, who extended his professional record to 25-0-2 when he defeated Ryno Liebenberg for the title, back in March, bout against Robert Berridge from New Zealand will go ahead in the 12-round main even at Golden Gloves’ D-Day Tournament, at Emperors Palace, on Saturday, June 6.
