Ekurhuleni appeals for patience as work to restore power in Boksburg continues

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality wishes to call for patience as indications point that the work to restore the Boksburg power supply will continue this morning. Engineers worked through the night and will continue to work without fail until power is fully restored.
“It became clear in the early hours of this morning that the 09:00 deadline to restore power would not be met. Certain work could not be done at the same time due to safety risk. The Executive mayor was on site at around 4:00 am to be briefed about the continuation of work this morning. The municipality has thrown all its weight and resources to ensuring that the power is restored speedily and we urge for patience from residents,” Ekurhuleni Spokesperson Themba Gadebe explained.
The municipality will continue to update residents on the progress of the work.
Parts of Boksburg lost the power supply yesterday around 07:00 in the morning following the explosion of the Incoming Circuit Breaker from Eskom to Ekurhuleni.
The affected areas include: Parkrand, Sunward Park, Freeway Park, Parts of CBD and Boksburg East.
