Power restored Sunday evening
Power to Boksburg was restored last night.
This is according to Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
Engineers worked throughout Saturday and Sunday to restore power to Boksburg, after parts of Boksburg lost the power supply on Saturday at around 7am following the explosion of the Incoming Circuit Breaker from Eskom to Ekurhuleni.
The affected areas included Parkrand, Sunward Park, Freeway Park, Parts of CBD and Boksburg East.
The Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor, Cllr Mondli Gungubele extended his gratitude to the Boksburg residents for their patience after enduring two-days without power supply.
“We know that it must have been a very tough weekend without power supply and we do not discount the inconvenience it has caused and the frustration it brought. However, we are grateful that nevertheless you remained patient.
“It is important that we emphasise that the municipality has the best interest of our citizens at heart and even in the midst of the power challenges we dispatched our best team to respond to the challenge,” the mayor said.
Similarly, the mayor noted the hard work by the engineers who worked around the clock to restore the power supply.
