Plastic chairs the undoing of a wanted criminal

A suspect, linked to seven housebreaking and theft cases, was arrested by members of the SAPS and a SWS security officer in Impala Park, on June 26.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the security officer responded to a panic button call in Findel Street at around 8.30am.

“The homeowner said she saw a man running through her garden with plastic garden chairs,” says Coetzer.

“The Boksburg North Sector vehicle was also on the scene and together with the security officer searched for the suspect, who was caught in Witkoppie Ridge.”

A case of possession of stolen goods was opened. The value of the chairs is R800.

“Upon further investigation, they found that the suspect was a wanted person in a Boksburg North case.” – @CarmenBoksburg
