Apparently the cause of the problem was a damaged sewer system.
According to Pinheiro, the sewerage spillage was experienced since April this year and was only fully resolved in June.
Despite the sewerage spillage, it appears that he also experienced plumbing problems in his house due to the damaged sewer system.
“Among others, I experienced a blockage on the toilet pipes. My house is on sale and I actually feel ashamed when people come and view the property, because of this unbearable and disgusting smell and sight.”
Pinheiro’s neighbours allegedly experienced similar problems.
He says that he initially had a lot of difficulties with the council in order to fix the problem completely.
In an attempt to resolve the damaged sewer system, it is understood that contractors were called out to her property in April, May and twice in June.
Only on the fourth attempt, the damaged sewer system was completely repaired.
“When the workers were here the first few times, they didn’t seem all that dedicated to what they were doing and they weren’t here for long.”
However, on their last call-out he was grateful with the response.
