Gold for Ricko at JSKA championships
Local karate student Ricko van Zyl recently competed in the 30th National Japan Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA) championships in Pretoria.
Competing against multiple regions including Zimbabwe, the Laerskool Baanbreker learner excelled in the Kata and Kumite events coming in first for both, earning him two gold medals.
Ricko is training under Sensei Sampie van Zyl at the Germiston Karate Centre.
