Soccer derby will be closely-contested
Following a slow start to the season thus far, both Boksburg and CBC will look to kick-start their campaign with a derby win, which will be accompanied by bragging rights when they clash at the Boksburg City Stadium on Saturday, May 24.

Boksburg lies eighth on the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) log with three points after five matches, drawing three and losing two.
Skipper, Mathew Cooley, said form wouldn’t count much in the derby.
“All five games we’ve played have been tough games with some chances missed, but we have been training hard on these missed opportunities to secure wins,” said the central defender.
“The league is a step-up for BFC (Boksburg Football Club) and we will be going all out for our local derby against CBC.
“BFC played CBC three times last year, winning one, losing one and drawing the other so the guys are determined to go all out for this derby.
“Excitement is building up in our training sessions as this is a normally highly-competitive match; BFC wants to come out on top.”
CBC coach Glen Brierley, echoed Cooley’s sentiments on the competitive nature when these two meet.
“It’s always a closely-contested match between us and them; it’ll be close,” said Brierley.
“The mood in the squad is positive, we managed to beat them 2-0 last year in the cup final so supporters should come out and support what is always a nice festive when these two play.”
Cooley also urged the Boksburg faithful to out in their numbers in support.
“I call on fans to come and support us as we are determined to give everything to secure a win for this upcoming derby.”
CBC lies ninth on the table with three points after five outings, one position below Boksburg who have a superior goal difference.
Kick-off is at 3.30pm.
