Murder suspects not out on bail

The Advertiser recently reported that the two men arrested for the killing of Johnny Kennedy (42) were released on bail following their first court appearance, according to the police.

This information supplied by the Reiger Park police, turned out to be untrue.

The suspects were released because the case was not placed on the court roll.

The police admitted that the suspects were released due to the police’s failure to link them to the shooting.

The police say it turned out that these two suspects were just accomplices, not the shooter.

So they are now searching for the shooter.

The two suspects age 22 and 26, believed to be gang members, were arrested on Wednesday, February 19, and were both charged with murder.

Kennedy of Ramaphosa was gunned down in his house on Friday, February14.
