Bokkie Park revamp progresses
Upgrading of facilities at the Bokkie Park will continue for the next three years.

This is according to Jaco Burger of the Ekurhuleni metro, who says the Bokkie Park upgrade started in July 2011.
“This is part of the Ekurhuleni Metro Parks’ programme to upgrade all regional parks throughout Ekurhuleni.”
Burger says that so far a new perimeter fence had been built, the dam cleaned and the dam wall had been repaired.
“In 2013, the new road was paved and a new animal shed was built. Reconstruction continues with the installation of a new stormwater channel from White Street, as well as new interior fencing and new stables.”
It is expected that in 2015, further paving will be laid, and a new chicken coop will be built, including a new pig housing irrigation system.
“It is planned by 2016 that the park will be equipped with new playground equipment, more lapas, as well as playgrounds for disabled persons.”
“At the Bokkie Park families can experience the opportunity of interacting with animals such as sheep, cows, pigs and rabbits.
The park remains open throughout the process of construction and fully functioning.
