According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, during 2009 a seven-year-old boy was raped and molested by his biological father and his friend.
“The biological father and his friend started touching the boy and raping him for an unknown period. The boy was told to keep quiet,” she says.
She adds that one day the boy complained to his grandmother that his genitals were sore.
This was reported to the SAPS and the by was sent for a medical evaluation.
A case of rape and sexual assault was opened and investigated.
“Det WO Manie du Preez stuck to a long investigation and court appearances, but it eventually led to a positive outcome,” Coetzer says.
On the charge of rape, the men received a life sentence, and on the charge of sexual assault they each received a six-year sentence.
