According to Mandlakazi Mpahlwa-Sigcawu, spokesperson for the metro, the feeder cables between the Parkrand substation and the switching station on the Sunward Park area failed.

“Repairs are underway,” he says.

The EMM Energy Department’s Hannes Roos says both feeder cables done at 02:15am, and one failed test again.

The fault has however been located and a team is busy working on it.

Freeway Park’s power has been restored, and power will be rotated on a three-hour intervals between Freeway Park and Sunward Park until a second feeder cable additional fault is repaired.
