Festive season appeal from the SPCA
The season of goodwill, the time for giving: - the SPCA movement in South Africa is appealing to everyone to make the festive season 2013 genuinely meaningful.
This is the time of year when resources at SPCAs are stretched to the limit. They experience a marked increase in animals being admitted plus the additional workload of attending to issues relating to the holiday season.
People can help in many ways. A commitment to a monthly donation by debit order can costs as little as R10 a month. A once-off donation taken to the SPCA itself will lift spirits and give a moral as well as a financial boost.
Why not donate specified amounts to your local SPCA in the name of a loved one? A wonderful way to recognise a caring person in your circle of family, friends or colleagues.
Christmas is the time when loved ones gather – also the time when loved ones no longer with us are remembered and so a donation in memory of an individual or beloved pet can be made at your local SPCA. It will be appreciated, comforting and positive.
Donations of items are always welcomed. This includes the handing over of pet food, blankets and suitable toys. Please don’t forget that many SPCAs sell cards and supporting them in this venture also helps to swell their coffers.
Thrift shops at SPCAs are always keen to have unwanted yet saleable items. Why not have a clear out of toys, clothing, kitchen items, books and anything they may be able to sell to raise funds.
Above all, a heartfelt appeal is made to all caring and compassionate South Africans to ensure that YOUR local SPCA is supported.
