Boksburg Bowling Club season opener
The Boksburg Bowling Club unveiled its new blue strip for the new 2013/14 bowling season on Saturday, October 12.
Club chairperson Mary Harwood said that this season will see players from the club don the blue shirt in place of the traditionally renowned white one.
To begin the day’s proceedings, the youngest club member 16-year-old Mariska van Heerden did the honours of raising the country’s flag in a ceremony watched on by the rest of the club members.
Eldest club member Joey Langdon, who turned 91 in March this year, threw the first bowl of the new season.
The 2013/14 campaign will run until June next year.
