Eastern Gauteng MMA action
The Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre will host the Mix Martial Arts Gauteng Open Championships event on Saturday, October 5.
The competition is designed for all amateur MMA fighters who compete in the light contact, full contact, Gi and No-Gi grappling categories, and will start at 9am with an officials briefing and competition starting at 9.30am.
All Eastern Gauteng clubs close to Brakpan can weigh in on Friday, October 4, at the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre from 6pm until 7pm.
MMA light, Gi and No-Gi fighters can also weigh in on the morning of competition day between 7am and 9am – late comers will not be accommodated.
MMA South Africa rules will only apply for full contact bouts with MMA light, Gi and No-Gi bouts to comply with Abu Dhabi rules.
For spectators, viewing pleasure will only cost you R20 with children under six years of age entering for free.
