Parkrand Tennis Complex gets facelift
There has been a lot of activity at Parkrand Tennis Complex of late.
Having secured a grant of R200 000 from the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, facilities at the club have had much-needed and long-overdue upgrades.
The premises have been secured and gated and all nine courts have been re-fenced with six courts resurfaced.
In addition the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality also came to the party and repainted and repaired the clubhouse structure.
The management committee and members are indeed grateful for this injection of funds from all stakeholders, and look forward to seeing the club benefit well into the future.
Parkrand Tennis Complex can now boast to some of the best tennis facilities on the East Rand and, in addition, they aim to promote the complex to relevant governing bodies and have the venue used for regional and national tournaments and league fixtures moving forward.
The club has also seen an increase in memberships of late, and hopes that these new upgrades will also encourage people to get active and join the club and enjoy the game of tennis with their families.
In addition, the complex clubhouse and premises are now being hired out as a venue for parties, launches and corporate fun days, this additional increase will go towards maintenance and future upgrades of the complex.
Due to the renovations the club championships were postponed from earlier in the year, and are now scheduled to be held from September 7 until October 5.
Junior members are also participating this year, and the club is hoping for its largest number of entrants to date.
