Blues lose against Old Bens

Elsewhere, the team finally managed to register a win this season in the knockout cup, winning 2-1 away to Olympia on May 28.

The Boksburg Football Club travelled to Benoni on May 25 for their ELFA Super League clash against Old Bens in search of their first win of the top flight.

But the club returned with nothing as they were again made to wait for their sought-after three points.

Despite all the huffing and puffing from the travellers, it was the home side who deservedly took all three points for making the most of their chances.

Blues coach Ernest Seforo said: “What a very interesting game to watch, the movement of the ball was great: good positioning of players, pressing and attacking.

“The way the ball was switched from one side to the other shows we dominated ball possession and a lot of scoring chances were created. The sad thing is not even one chance was converted to a victory.

“It hurts to be in this situation. We played better football than our opponents, but they were the champs because they managed to convert the few chances they had.

“They touched the net twice and at the end of the day, I would say they deserved the three points. Congratulations to Old Bens for the win.”
