Freeway Park Primary celebrates Wessa bronze award

The school urges the community to be part of the recycling revolution by bringing to the school's recycling depot unwanted paper, cardboard boxes and glass bottles.

Freeway Park Primary School has recently been honoured with a bronze award for successfully completing their first project as an eco-school.

The theme of the school’s project was “Recycling” for which a recycling centre and recycling depot was established.

All the learners and educators completed activities about recycling and enthusiastically brought paper, plastic and glass to be recycled.

The school is also now an official eco-school recently affiliated to Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (Wessa).

Wessa implements effective environmental, eco-tourism, education and youth development programmes throughout South Africa, and activates a wide range of local initiatives for the environment through its membership network.
