East Rand Nomads annual bowls kicks off season
Nomads do not give money, but instead buy items of importance, such as food, blankets, clothes and bedding.

The Boksburg Bowling Club hosted the East Rand Nomads annual bowls day recently.
It was also the start of the new bowling season.
The day saw four districts come together to generate money for various charities. The districts involved were Johannesburg, Golden West, Vaal and Vereeniging, and Jacaranda (Pretoria).

The money raised at the event will go to organisations such as Anti-Freeze (street children), the SPCA and other children’s shelters.

East Rand Nomad Bowls president Grant Sloane was ecstatic to see the number of bowlers who turned up to make the day a great success.
His committee, consisting of Barry Firth, Pat Firth, Anita Sloane, Glynn Graham, Mary Harwood and Warwick Taylor all worked hard to make the day enjoyable and a great success.
People interested in playing bowls can contact Glynn Graham on 082 401 7548.
