Currently the reported cases for the latest financial year sits at 94 cases, down from 213 cases in the two previous financial years.
Despite the decrease in the drug-related crimes, other crimes have increased, such as common robbery, which shows an increase from 63 to 70 cases and theft of motor vehicle and motorcycle up from 88 to 93.
Burglaries at residential premises have remained an issue in Dawn Park over the last five years.
The statistics show that in 2013, 495 cases were reported, while in 2014 it spiked to 544, followed by 562 in 2015 and then 498 for the 2016 period.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs increased to 102 cases, from 79 in 2014/15.
Good news, however, is that illegal possession of firearms and ammunition decreased from 36 to 15 cases reported in 2014/15.
More good news is that carjacking has decreased from 87 to 72 cases reported for the period of 2014/15.
Meanwhile, commercial crime and shoplifting have increased.
Commercial crime was sitting on 12 and has increased to 27, while shoplifting rose from 0 to 17 cases reported from 2014/15 to 2015/16.
Murder cases have decreased compared to 2014/15 as they were on 43, dropping to 36 for 2015/16.
