Sport Planet – UEFA Champions League final

Undoubtedly two of the best teams in Europe currently, Juventus and Barcelona meet in Berlin on Saturday, June 6 for the 2015 Champions League final.

There’s more than the actual trophy on line.

Following respective domestic league and cup doubles for these European giants, both teams find themselves in the rare opportunity of securing a treble should either lift the most prestigious price in club football.

Should the Old Lady triumph, it will join the elite treble-winning list including Ajax (1972), PSV Eindhoven (1988), Manchester United (1999), Barcelona (2009), Inter Milan (2010) and Bayern Munich (2013).

If the Catalans come out tops, they will become the first club team to win the treble on more than one occasion.

Juve, who’ve won the Champions League on two occasions, have eliminated the likes of Monaco and last year’s champions Real Madrid on their way to Berlin while Barca brushed aside PSG before humbling Bayern Munich.

Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri and his men will join Manchester United in the three-time European champion category should they upset the odds and defeat Lionel Messi and co.

Barca meanwhile will join European super powers Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the five-time European champion bracket should they emerge victorious.

Start time: 8.45pm. My prediction: Barcelona 2-1 Juventus
