D-Day at the Palace for Tommy

Tommy Oosthuizen will defend his IBO Light heavyweight World Title for the first time at Golden Gloves’ D-Day Tournament, at Emperors Palace, on Saturday, June 6.

Oosthuizen, who extended his professional record to 25-0-2 when he defeated Ryno Liebenberg for the title, back in March, will meet Robert Berridge from New Zealand in the 12-round main event.

Fellow Hammer Gym trainee Johnny Muller will feature in the night’s supporting main event, going up against Polish hard-hitter, Mateusz Masternek, in a 10-round cruiserweight bout.

Also featured in the undercard fights are promising prospects Roman Zhailauov from Kazakhstan and Xolisani Ndongeni.

The night’s heavyweight fight will feature an imposing Ruan Visser (2.07m, 130kg) squaring up against Emannuel Mamengi for four rounds.
