Damelin spreads kindness and encouragement

Damelin Boksburg spread kindness to strangers as part of their 67 minutes of service on Mandela Day, July 18.

According to Peggy Ntsepe, the schools Community Engagement officer, this was their way of celebrating Mandela’s legacy.

“Mandela showed kindness through the spirit of Unbuntu, and as staff members we handed out sweet packets at the taxi rank to drivers and commuters. Attached to these sweets is a quote from noteworthy people who also dared to spread kindness,” says Ntsepe.

“We did this because we realise that spreading love and kindness is not a small act, but indeed a big one that we all can participate in as a country and a nation.

The team also gave out printed T-shirts with the message “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” which is a famous Madiba quote.

“As an education institution we would love to leave people with a thought to do good.” -@TumeloBoksburg
