Con-artist targets Sunward Park women
A woman from Sunward Park, who wishes to remain anonymous, warns women in the area about a con-artist who is extracting money under false pretenses.

According to the woman, the con-artist who is said to be in his late twenties, driving a silver Micra.
“He drives up to women in shopping complexes with a heartfelt sob story. He told me that his family member needs to be hospitalised and I gave him R400,” says the victim.
The victim says she became suspicious when he approached her for the second time with a different story.
“I was then made aware that there were a few other cases from other women around Sunward Park,” she says.

This same gentleman approached me at a petrol station in Parkdene asking me for money for his sick child who was in the car. I asked the petrol attendants about him, and they told me he is there often. This was however about 4 months ago, and I haven’t seen him since.

Its hard not to get jaded and to simply stop lending a helping hand to those less fortunate. I am sure we have all been taken for a ride a few times but equally, I am sure we have also really helped a few with genuine problems.
I guess we can only hope that Kharma does a full reverse back slap and sorts out the scumbags that pray on the goodwill of others
