Leslie wins silver at Amber Prix Olympia
Boksburg pro-bodybuilder, John Leslie, finished as the runner-up behind Iranian stalwart, Reza Bagherzadeh, to claim silver at the World Fitness Federation (WFF) and World Bodybuilding Federation's (WBBF) Professional Amber Prix Olympia World Championships on Wednesday, November 6.
British champion Rob Reinaldo completed the top three at the event held in Brusno Kupele, Slovakia.
This was Leslie’s first appearance in the Amber Prix World Championships after having recently earned his WFF-WBBF Pro Card.
“I was happy with the result, as you have to earn your respect and prove yourself in the federation,” said the 31-year-old Leslie, who weighed in at 114kg.
Competitors went through a number of individual rounds where they were judged on their bodily proportions, symmetry, condition and how they presented their physique.
The judging process then proceeded to competitors being compared to one another in their respective classes, Professional Bodybuilding Class in this case, where bodily proportions, symmetry, condition and size were again looked at before deciding on the winner via a points system.
Leslie’s other career highlights include winning 10 Mr SA bodybuilding titles between 2004 and 2012, winning the u-23 Mr Universe and Super Heavyweight Mr Universe titles in 2004, and the overall Mr Universe title in 2008.
Leslie walked away with R13 670.

He returns to competition next year.
