Let’s go swimming – indoor pool functional

Residents of Boksburg and surrounding areas can now enjoy swimming all year round at the Boksburg North swimming pool.

The good news comes after the Ekurhuleni municipality decided to fix the enclosed Boksburg North swimming pool’s heating system.

The contractor appointed by the metro to carry out the work has already replaced the old heating system with a new one, and is already heating the pool.

When the Advertiser visited the public pool on Wednesday, October 9, the pool water temperature was at 26 degrees Celsius.

Workmen are in the process of finalising work on the airconditioning systems.

The pool was reopened for the community on September 1.

The heated indoor pool in Boksburg North is available to the public during public swimming hours.

  1. Due to the recent heavy rains, some of the roof insulating panels at the pool have fallen into the water. For about a week now the majority of fibers are still sitting at the bottom of the pool. Considering when the pool was built, I am concerned that these are asbestos fibers. Is anyone able to verify what the insulating panels are made of and if any plans will be put in place to prevent any other panels falling in
