Enter the 5150 African championship triathlon

Entries for the exciting inaugural 5150 African Championship can still be made and racers who are interested are urged to make entries soon before the closing date on September 30.

The latest edition will take place on November 3 at the Germiston Lake.

It consists of a standard distance triathlon, namely a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and a 10km run all meant to accommodate athletes of all abilities.

This includes experienced triathletes and beginners aspiring to get into the sport.

With the city of Ekurhuleni having spent over R20-million on a major upgrade project of the Germiston Lake Municipal Park, including cleaning of the lake and improving water quality, the race is set to become the biggest mass participation triathlon in Africa.

Race entries are up for grabs to be won by you and a friend by visiting 5150 African Triathlon Series Facebook page on www.facebook.com/5150TriAfrica and entering the 5150 African Championship competition.

The championship is a qualifier for the 2014 Hy-Vee 5150 US championships, offering qualifying points and prize money for professional athletes as well as ten age group qualifying slots for amateur athletes.
