Comet sinkhole remains a concern
Five months ago a massive sinkhole opened up in one of the streets in Comet, and it is still not repaired. In the meantime, it appears to get larger.

It has apparently been caused by a municipal sewer pipeline that collapsed. When the Advertiser visited the area, this week, we were welcomed by a smell of sewage water gushing from the damaged main sewer line.
Residents expressed grave concerns for the health and safety of the more than 200 residents who are exposed to the danger of the sinkhole.
They fear that if the problem is not fixed before the first rains in September, water would start pooling in the subsidence area, causing more problems.
The giant hole was inspected by the metro early in June, this year, and a fence had been erected to ensure the safety of residents.
But who is going to fix it, is still up in the air.
