Thousands of animals helped
Sixteen-thousand animals have been assisted by the SPCA within the last year, said Wilma Steynbergh, Boksburg SPCA manager, at the Boksburg SPCA's annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday, July 25, at the Trinity Community Church, in Sunward Park.

Gobey thanked staff members for their dedication and the hard work they have been doing.
“You all work tirelessly year after year, especially in these cold winters and at any time of the day and night to ensure that the animals in Boksburg are cared for and have a place of safety where they receive food, water, warmth, and, above all, love and compassion.
“We appreciate you and are proud of you, and we look forward to working with you in the next year,” she concluded.
Alta Gobey, chairperson of the management committee says, “The SPCA fundraising on regional level has taken off very well. Our first SPCA Animal Run in 2012 at the Boksburg Stadium was successful. The second SPCA Animal Run is scheduled for Sunday, 1 September,” she said.
