Dawn Park residents march against crime
Residents of Dawn Park embarked on a march to the Dawn Park SAPS.

According to W/O, David Rafanyane, less than 50 community members from Dawn Park extension 42, marched to the station on Saturday, July 20, to hand over a memorandum.
The memorandum outlines the residents’ concerns on crime matters, police visibility, time reaction, and lack of feedback as well as the revival of Community Police Forums (CPF’s).
“The community of Dawn Park is growing every day. There is a need for the recruitment of more policemen, but there is also a need for community members to be the eyes and ears of the police.
“We encourage the community to join police forums where they are trained and inducted to assist the police with duties such as citizen arrests,” says Rafanyane.
Rafanyane says the memorandum has given the station 14 days to respond.
