Dawn Park SAPS offers victim support
The Dawn Park Police SAPS Victims Empowerment Centre (VEC) has partnered with Families South Africa (Famsa) in the East Rand.
Together they offer counseling and advice to victims of trauma, abuse and violence.
Constance Msiza, coordinator at the VEC, says that the dominating issue that the centre is faced with is dealing with victims of domestic violence.
“We as VEC only deal with referrals and advisors, but a counselor from Famsa is available three times a week to assist victims” she says.
