Adam Forbes talks about Boksburg’s cricket season
“Some of us didn’t have as good a season as we would’ve liked, but all in all: coaches, management, we are all very chuffed.”
Boksburg Cricket Club captain Adam Forbes told the Advertiser the mood within the squad was positive following the conclusion of the Eastern Cricket Premier League Top 6 competition, where the Prince George outfit finished at the base of the competition table.
Forbes and co., however, see the glass as half full rather than half empty after finishing the tournament with a 50 per cent win ratio.
Asked for his perception of the season which recently concluded, the skipper said: “We are all very, very happy. We achieved our goal we set out at the start of the season.
“We said our goal is to make Top 6 and at least perform in Top 6, and we did that.
“We played four games, we won two, we lost two, and the one we lost was a fairly close game. So we achieved our goal, we did what we wanted to do. We can’t be angry at ourselves for not doing better.
“Obviously, finishing higher up would be ideal, but considering that we’re still a very young side, I’m happy with the way we performed, as captain.
“We had five new players this year and finishing where we did, it is probably the best Top 6 season we’ve had in recent years. It’s the best season we’ve had, so we’re all very happy.
Boksburg’s missing fifth fixture against Alberton was rained out.
