Lost pets reported to the SPCA during festive season

Fireworks and crackers could be heard exploding around most parts of Boksburg.

About eight pets, this includes dogs and cats, were taken in on New Year’s Eve and January 1.

According to Boksburg SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore, they did not take in too many pets for 2019, running into the new year.

However, they did receive numerous reports of lost and found animals over this period.

Finnemore said fireworks and crackers could be heard exploding around most parts of Boksburg.

“It never ceases to amaze us how people continue to support the trade of fireworks, knowing fully the terror and injury they cause to animals. It seems to be getting worse every year,” Finnemore said.
