Members of the district’s various CPFs were also honoured for going beyond the call of duty in supporting their respective police stations.

SAPS members from the Ekurhuleni District were honoured for going the extra mile in making sure Ekurhuleni residents live and work in safe communities.

The members, from the police stations within the district, were awarded and recognised at the district’s annual Excellence Awards held at Carnival City on September 11.

The winners in the various categories of the Excellence Awards, from the Boksburg North Police Station, are:

• Vispol Employee of the Year (level 8 to 12): Lt Col Michael Sipho Mathebula

• Vispol Employee (level 3 to 7): Madumetja Matwetja

• Vispol Employee (level 3 to 7) runner-up: Frans Ledwaba

• Admin Employee – runner-up (level 8 to 12): Mike Terblanche

• Admin Employee of the Year – second runner-up: Carol Sekele

• Man of the Year: Const Justice Ramaube

• CPF of the Year: Mark Gilpen

Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube described such annual events as a way of celebrating members’ successes, which then also help boost members’ morale and motivate those men and women in the uniform to perform at optimal levels.

The 2019 event was also graced with the attendance of high-ranking police and CPF officials from the province. This included representatives from the Gauteng police commissioner’s office.
