Owner of adult shop arrested for contravening Medicine Control Act

The suspect was detained at the Boksburg North Police Station and he will be appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court soon.

A 36-year-old man was arrested for allegedly contravening the Medicine Control Act and Drug Trafficking Act.

The man was arrested around 2pm at his adult shop in Cason Road on September 9, during an operation organised by the Boksburg North SAPS and members of the second-hand goods unit.

According to Const Justice Ramaube, upon arrival and through preliminary investigations, it was discovered that the 36-year-old allegedly contravened the Medicine and Related Substance Control Act, section 22 paragraph (a) and section 14 subsection (1), by selling pills not fit for human consumption.

“He further allegedly contravened the Drug Trafficking Act by selling sexual enhancement pills.

“During the arrest, he was charged with possession of and dealing in dependence-forming substances which are harmful to human beings,” Ramaube said.
