Resident concerned about speeding vehicles in Tim Street

It is understood that the speed limit in Tim Street is 60km/h

A resident warns motorists to be careful when driving on Tim Street in Morganridge.

Tim Street is close to schools like Laerskool Concordia and Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen.

According to the resident, the road is like a racetrack.

“It’s an urban area but motorists are speeding down the road. I don’t know if they realise how dangerous it is. It is close to a school and they should be considerate to other people,” said the resident, who wishes to remain anonymous.

The amount of accidents in Tim Street is making the resident anxious.

“There have been several accidents in this street. Somebody recently drove into a pole. This is why people should be cautious. We can’t lose lives on the stretch of this road.”

A pole driven out of the ground in the street.

The resident feels that the situation is serious and that it needs to be attended to.

“It will help if they put up more speed bumps in the street. This will force people to obey the rules and could prevent accidents. I want people to be aware of the dangerous road and want motorists to know that they should be more careful.”

The Advertiser is still awaiting comment from the EMPD.
