Crime spree: Burglars target homes in Boksburg

Below are some of the burglaries recently reported to the Boksburg police:

• In Sunward Park, burglars ransacked a residential house on Klarinet Road and stole goods worth about R12 000, on June 23.

The victim told police he was awakened by the commotion at about 1am and thereupon noticed someone had switched the lights on in the house.

He noticed the TV set that was in his bedroom was gone. He then left his bedroom and discovered thieves had forced open the burglar door to enter the house and stole an amplifier, a computer screen, a bag, a laptop charger, an LG Plasma (49 inch) LCD TV, two Dell laptops, a Lamborghini watch, jewellery and three expensive cellphones. Items are insured.

• Thieves forced their way into a residential house on Vlakkenberg Road in Freeway Park and stole valuable goods, including a TV set, sound system, jewellery and others, on June 20.

The thieves forced opened the gate and one of the doors of the house to gain entry. The stolen goods are not insured.

• In Commissioner Street, Boksburg, thieves forced their way into a residential complex and stole valuable goods from one of the houses on June 20. The homeowner told the police she left her home just after 7am and went to work, but when she returned home on the same day her clothes, laptop, handbag and other items were stolen. Stolen items are not insured.

• A resident of Boksburg arrived home to find an intruder in his home on Market Street, Boksburg CBD, on June 20. The complainant told police as he was entering the property he noticed a thief, described as a coloured male, running out of his house.

When he, the homeowner, entered the house he discovered the kitchen sink, four chairs and three TV sets as well as a music system were gone. Stolen goods are not insured.

• A Parkrand resident woke up in the early hours of June 22 to discover thieves have ransacked his house while he was fast asleep.

The Swallow’s Nest resident told police he went to sleep and all was in order, but when he woke up the door was open and the lights were on.

It then emerged that the intruders forced opened one of the doors to enter the house, where they stole a laptop, jewellery, cash and other valuable items. Stolen goods are insured.
