Boksburg to play in tougher league

Boksburg Rugby Club will have their work cut out for them in the Predator League.

The Prince George Park-based club qualified for the league (which includes top teams from the Blue Bulls, Lions and Leopards Leagues) by finishing among the top two in the Valke League.

The league has been split into four groups, and the top team in each group will go through to the semi-finals.

Boksburg is in a group with Centurion, Raiders and North West University Pukke.

The Owls first match will be at home to Blue Bulls champions Centurion on Saturday, July 20.

Boksburg then travels to Raiders on July 27.

On August 3, Boksburg will host NWU Pukke.

The semi-finals will be a day later.

“Competition is a lot stronger,” says Boksburg’s chairman Sean Scheepers.

“We aiming for a place in the semi-final.”
