Local cricket clubs in full swing for the new season

The new campaign will go on a break in early December and resume next year. -

The Sunward Park Cricket Club (SPCC) will again be competing in various leagues within the Easterns cricket club structure and potential players of any ability are welcome.

Practices are held every Sunday from 10.30am at SPCC in Sunward Park (across the road from Sunward Park Hospital).

All current and new players are encouraged to attend in preparation for the new season which begins this weekend.

Additional details are available from club chairman Thienes Swanepoel (083 258 2055) and/or Anthony Rochford (082 490 8338).

* Meanwhile, CBC Old Boys, who will still be led by Casey Arnold, have strengthened their squad with the additions of Titans star Grant Thomson, Reynard de Lange, Devon Botha and Ryno van der Merwe.

Botha makes a return to the club having featured for it before.

It bodes well for the new campaign as sides across the league have made new additions to improve from last season and even attempt to wrestle the championship crown away from powerhouse champions, Kempton Park.
