Valke u-20s enjoy a glamorous send-off
The group, which was acknowledged with their Valke red caps handed out by Valke President Jan Wiegand, are led by prop forward Byron Nyschen.
The Valke u-20 side representing the local union at the new and on-going Currie Cup was announced at the Wildebeest entertainment venue in Boksburg on Wednesday evening, August 8.
The squad hosted the Pumas at the Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park and were edged 22-17 on Saturday, August 4.
The jumper that the squad is playing in in the tournament was also revealed, as well as the team’s sponsors, which include TW Profile as the main sponsor, Volcano Sports and Wildebeest entertainment venue.
The other teams that the Valke will be facing in the tournament involve the Griquas, SWD, Border, Griffons, Boland and Limpopo Bulls.
The championship is scheduled to run until mid-October.
