Councillor calls for PG Park overhaul

Ward councillor is calling for a total renovation of this facility

Ward 32 councillor Marius de Vos has called for serious attention to be given to one of Boksburg’s iconic facilities: Prince George Park.

The facility, which is the home of the Boksburg Rugby and Cricket clubs, also hosts home matches for the Boksburg Football Club, among other of its functions.

De Vos’s complaints were directed at the facilities’ broken floodlights, changing room drains and a lack of an irrigation system.

“I’ve complained about this to the municipality for almost two months, but nothing has been done. This is a clear sign that those employed to do maintenance are either not skilled enough or have no work ethic.

“It must be an honour to work for your local government.”
