A huge order for Rotary’s school bag project

Rotary's push for every school child having a school bag has been fruitful

A few months ago Rotary Club of Boksburg started an admirable school bag project to benefit all needy children in Boksburg and surrounding areas.

Recently the project’s well-wishers found themselves the delighted recipients of an order for six hundred school bags.

Rotary Club Boksburg filled the order and delivered the bags to the sponsors Literally Tax Consulting (Pty) Ltd of Boksburg which intends to donate them to a school in Boksburg.

The project was launched when Rotary Club Boksburg’s president-elect Derek Fox and current president Noel Wauchope realised that many children carry their books to school in plastic bags or whatever they can find to serve the purpose.

It became clear to them and therefore Rotary that all school children need a school bag and so they decided to do something about it.

Ever since, other Rotary clubs, businesses and individuals were approached to participate in the project.

“Kind sponsors contributed and so far all requests for the provision of school bags for children could be filled, for which the club is extremely thankful,” Fox said.
