Get ready for the Knight of Champions at St Dominic’s

The event is dedicated to the late Norman Knight who was a previous adjudicator of drum majorettes.

St Dominic’s Catholic school for girls are hosting the Drum Majorette Competition, Knight of Champions on April 21.

This event has been running for over 40 years and is the first large drill drum majorette competition of the season.

St Dominic’s Primary and High School teams won the 2017 South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association national championships.

This year, the national championships will be held in Oudtshoorn.

The public can expect over 30 drum majorette and cheerleading teams competing.

There will also be an all-day event, with food sales. This is a lovely way to spend a day with the family.

The programme of the day is as follows:

7.30 am Primary Small Drill; 9.37am High Small Drill; 10.48am Primary Pom; 12.06 pm High Pom;

1.20pm Primary Baton; 2.02pm High Baton; 2.45pm Tertiary Cheerleading followed by cheerleading prize giving; 4.30pm Primary Large Drill Presidents league; 6.40pm Primary Large Drill Elite league; 7.50pm High Large Drill.
