Seforo is hard work to get the Blues ‘bus’ moving
Sgora, the coach’s son, is set to return for the Blues’ next game after completing his two-game suspension.
Boksburg Football Club coach Ernest Seforo described his side’s latest loss in the Eastern Super League as “the bus won’t start”, meaning that the first win of the season is continuing to elude them.
The Blues were beaten 2-1 in an away game against Germiston on Saturday, March 17, in what was their third defeat in as many games in the new campaign.
The half-time score was 1-0 to the hosts.
Clement Mashigo pulled one back for Seforo’s men after going down 2-0 in the second stanza.
Heavily compromised in the attack department following the long-term injury to centre forward Ashton Gardner and the red card received by midfield star Kagisano “Sgora” Seforo against their clash against Olympia – Seforo was forced to field two centre backs as strikers in an unusual reshuffling move.
Centre back duo Thuso Silepe and captain Dylan Africa assisted wing back Tebogo Modulane in toeing the line in a 3-4-3 attacking formation as Seforo went for broke.
And it almost worked, as the trainer explained.
“Improvement was there, our first game we lost 6-1 (against Benoni Northerns); our second game we lost 5-2 (against Olympia) and now 2-1, so the bus is going to start soon,” he joked.
“They (the front three) played well; they were pushing, running and taking shots. They were putting a lot of pressure up there.
“We conceded cheap goals; we pinned them in their own half and our goalkeeper had a bad game and made costly mistakes. We made silly mistakes.”
