Billy Oosthuizen makes history at EWC 7
The 23-year-old’s sensational win has also earned him a shot at the vacant EWC bantamweight title.
Pitbull Dojo Boksburg gym fighter Billy Oosthuizen TKO’d Siyabonga ‘Shaka Zulu’ Zulu to register the quickest fight in Extreme Warriors’ Championship’s (EWC) young history.
It took Oosthuizen just 29 seconds to dismiss Zulu, breaking his own record he set at EWC 6 when he blitzed to a 36-second victory against Pakamiso Dumiso.
The win, which Oosthuizen claimed at the promotion’s seventh event, was achieved at the Zambezi Mall in Pretoria on February 24.
“I was disappointed in the fight,” he said.
“I expected more from the fight but it turned out I was too good for that guy.”
Oosthuizen also gave a word of gratitude to his sponsor Tel-Screw Products.

Meanwhile, Oosthuizen’s stablemate Robert ‘9mm’ Swanepoel made a winning debut on the same night when he cooled off Brendon ‘The Heat’ Pieterse 17 seconds into the second round.
Swanepoel shot the bull down Pieterse via TKO to complete a successful bow.
“It was great, the best feeling ever, it’s the most amazing feeling,” exclaimed the Van Dyk Park fighter.
“For some reason, I was very calm going into the fight, I was very excited, very pumped up but calm.”

Swanepoel dedicated the win to his late father. A moment of silence was held after his victory.
Elsewhere Marcel Botha, also from Pitbull Dojo, came up short against Ivan Murray in a round one TKO loss.
