Illegal squatters again removed from North Rand Road

Intersection is one of the main entrances to Boksburg

The EMPD removed homeless people squatting on the corner of North Rand and Rondebult roads again yesterday morning (February 15).

The Advertiser recently raised the concern with EMPD chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago after noticing the homeless had again set up shelters at the intersection.

A tenant at the K90 Centre also again contacted the Advertiser to complain about the situation.

She had first complained to the newspaper in October, last year, stating the intersection is one of the main entrances to Boksburg and that this eyesore may instil misperceptions about the city.

“We removed the vagrants’ possessions and cleared the area where they had been living,” Kgasago said.
